27

Hard to believe I've already made it this far in my journey in life. I hear other people's stories of the fun things they've noticed with getting older-- new wrinkles, ailments, heartburn after spicy foods, not being able to pull all-nighters, etc. and I've been dreading it. So when I got up I expected to see/feel something wrong with me, so I am pleased to announce I look/feel the same as  I did when I was 26. Which is just fine by me. I suppose some things will come later in life and some things might never come (like the boobs I've been waiting for since puberty). At any rate I plan to just take what life throws at me in stride and enjoy the ride.
we all had a paper we could write our thoughts on each "beer" and rate them 1-10

So I got this idea from a friend of mine and have been wanting to try it out for a while, so I thought now was as good a time as any. So for my birthday bash I decided to hold a root beer taste testing. And what better way to taste out root beer than with pizza? So we cooked some home-made stone-fired pizza (ok, so there was no actual fire involved, but you get my drift). It was so yummy-it's making me crave pizza right now writing about it! Dave and I got different types of root beer--basically all the singles Fred Myer had on the shelf and we blind taste tested them to figure out who made the best root beer. Many were tasted, only a couple were chosen. My personal favorite was a brand I've never heard of until that night--River City-- made out of Sacramento, California. I'm not a huge root beer fan myself, but that was delicious! It almost tasted like the root beer candy, but much much more flavor. So after this taste testing, a friend of mine showed me a website that has over a hundred different brands of root beer. They come in packs of 12-- you can order singles if you want, just at least 12 per order. So cool. We could determine the world's greatest root beer! Imagine all the possibilities with other flavor sodas, juices and the like. I definitely plan on doing a little more taste testing in the future. What great fun!
